APOB Concentration Is the Most Important Metric to Assess Cardiometabolic Risk

APOB is the most important number you want to understand to predict from a biomarker standpoint, your cardiometabolic risk. It captures all of the atherogenic particles that make up lipoproteins. LDLs are bad actors because they go into artery walls where they get oxidized and dump their sterile contents in subendiphelial space. This elicits an immune response on a whole bunch of other things that lead to atherosclerosis. There is no such thing as good cholesterol or bad cholesterol.
