Is There an Element of Satire in the Milesians?

Inophaness is a fascinating character. He's also some one who works on the what is now the eastern seaboard of turkey, as they all did. And he was clearly knowledgeable about a natural philosophy. But you can't help suspecting that he perhaps had his tongue in his cheek a bit. Theles anaximande and anaximnes didn't believe in deities but their deities are more like gods or philosophers.
