What's the Point of Metaphors?

The scientist's job to understand the depths of reality is, it's kind of amazing, when you think about it. A lot of the world is incredibly weird and mysterious. And what the stienci isis trying to do is dredge that up and make it clear,. such that it can be communicated to others in a meaningful way. So if words don't currently exist for certain concepts then people will have to reach for metaphors. That's a very rich kind of source of waysof talking.
