How Much Do I Need to Scaffold for My Child's ADHD?

I feel like one area where I'm struggling as a mom to step back and let them make their mistakes is with homework. So in terms of that going from elementary school to middle school is such a hard transition because there are so many organizational skills that kids need to learn and need to know. My first question would be does he have a planning system that he uses and does he know how to write down his assignments and check them off? Does he have a motivational system in place for himself?
