Gwen Stacy in Sam Raimi's Story
The Sandman is in Sam Raimi's story. Laura Ziskin swings in and says, Gwen Stacy should be in the movie. Great. Why would she be in theMovie? We skipped Gwen. She's actually Peter's high school girlfriend, Mary Jane comes later. Like, I don't think Gwen is not a compelling character in her own right, which she's not. The reason they kill her off, like it's funny because of course, you know, they talk about it. They're like, we can't believe we did that. It was such a shocking loss of innocence for the comic books.
