The Resurgent Post-War Nationalism of Japan

Paul's Descent began to play well in the 60s, an age of resurgent Japanese nationalism. The group included close associates of Kaya Oki-Nori who were trying to cast as much doubt as possible onto the legitimacy of the Tokyo Trials themselves. For example, you might be surprised to know that one of Japan's most nationalistic holidays, at least in its framing, dates not from the imperial era, but from 1966.
