The Sitri Community in Karachi, India

Africans came to india as traders and sailors in the fifteenth century. The sytnes are a socially and economically marginalise community. They have synthesized a life style that blends beliefs of three major religions, christianity, islam and hinduism. In a world that is increasingly becoming nativist, this cultural assimulation holds lessons for us all. Across the series on migration, i find it hard finding any other example of an african community where we can learn from them.
