Why do companies have such a hard time understanding why their competitors act the way that they do? And why is it so hard to get into a competitor's mindset? I think there's sort of two reasons. People with more seniority, more power, more status have a harder time being empathetic. We've been so successful as we get to be leaders, because we've made the choices that turned out to be right and got us promoted. So therefore, any others don't make sense to us.
