There were poetry open mics and you didn't have to pay for those. Those were just even more mentally ill people. You'd have somebody with a fern built into the side of their head or someone who would go up and pour blood on themselves. I then then poetry was like it was almost like it was too soft So went the other way of a slam poetry.
