The Biden Administration's View on Ukraine Accession
Do you have a sense of other than the American administration, which feels cautious about Ukraine accession for reasons of escalation? We don't want to draw Ukraine into the alliance at a time when it's in an active shooting war with Russia. Some nations aren't willing to take that risk and see offering Ukraine-Natal membership now would drag NATO into direct conflict with Russia. I think that is the big divide within NATO of the appetite for taking some risk on Ukraine and how escalation is viewed at the risk of escalation.
