The Importance of Collaboration in Science

Deutsch and pop or do in fact use the term refutation in different ways. You can't actually refute the theory proper with the single observation. Scientists are therefore right to wait for a corroboration of a theory before taking it too seriously. At least as a matter of practicalness, that's just good practice.
