The Stroke Correction Hierarchy

The most important thing for any swimmer, and the first question I always ask is how efficient is this swimmer breathing? Are they holding onto their breath? Are they exhaling underneath the water as they should be doing? Are they breathing? Can they breathe bilaterally? Are they not they choose to breathe bilaterally when they're racing? Is a different question and a different circumstance entirely. That's always a very, very, very fundamental part of the equation. But rather at the top of the stroke rate hierarchy, which is due to the other end of the spectrum, I'm actually looking at whether or not the swimmer has got the right kicking timing.
