The Manichian Heresy and the Dualistic Idea in Christian Thought
The manichian heresy fed in two and when it began to feed into the notion of what christianity was. The manachies are enormously successful from the third century on. They spread there their gos across the eastern roman empire, throug into the west, right through to china. But i think, i in a way, for the long term, their main importance is that augustine starts as a manarchy. And so augustine sets out to define orthodox christianity as opposed to manarchiism. He wants to deny an independent force for evil active in the world.
