The consensus panel believes that the updated criteria should lead to a better correlation between patient-centered outcomes and clinical trial results. The most important change is the introduction of complete response with partial hematologic recovery, since studies have shown that MDS patients that achieve a CRH have an overall survival similar to those who don't.
