Edgar Allan Poe's Pettiness

Theories surrounding Edgar Allan Poe's death have centered around the fact that he couldn't handle alcohol. He wasn't one of those folks who doesn't function at the top of American society, because he is a genius and very talented. So it does seem that there are some serious questions about whether or not Poe deserved this image.
