What Is a Stop T?
What is a stop T? It's a stop of sound that changes the feeling of the syllable. A non-native speaker might hear bite and say, I'm not hearing a T at all. But to a native speaker, we hear the T because of the change in quality. Stony, our son who's 18 months old, is starting to repeat a lot of words,. He gets that that change in quality is a T. And he started saying, hat to hat at. So by B-U-Y, I'm going to go shopping. Or have a mosquito bite. Buy, bite, bite.
