In the 1950s, Israel tried to undermine Egyptian President Gamel Abdul Nasser. Israeli spies kept an eye on Egypt's navy, air force and missile program. The Israelis were alarmed by this; they got into a new business of intimidation. They intimidated German scientists who worked with U.S., Iranian nuclear programs.
