Using TV and films for learning English is not just a simple or easy way to learn. You need to be prepared to focus and perhaps be more active while watching. In your first language, you might just switch on a film or a TV show and then kind of veg out while watching it without really concentrating. Now, this probably won't work in English. There are other things that you need to do too, but I'm not going into those right now because we'd be here all day.
