Emmy Noether's Theorem

Emmy noether was only the second woman to ever earn a PhD in math anywhere in Europe. Noether proved her famous theorems though it was understood for the first time that these conservation laws were really coming from the deep symmetries that were built into the structure of space and time. Her research had become more abstract and more creative but she just couldn't like land a real academic position all because of her gender.
