The Benefits of Reading Aloud

Reading aloud allows a child to access information and ideas that are beyond his current ability to read with his eyes. This is something that you can use to challenge your children's brains when their eyes are not yet ready. I have the good fortune of having experienced this personally with my own reading journey quite recently, as well as tutoring and helping my children to become skilled readers. It adds all the benefits of reading and it brings some benefits that aren't otherwise there.
