Paris residents voted on a referendum to ban shared rental e-scooters from the city streets. 89% of Parisians voted in favor of the ban, and scooter providers Lime, Dot, and Cheer will have to remove around 15,000 total scooters by September 1. The referendum also isn't binding, so Mayor Anne Hidalgo could still decide to allow the scooters in the city.
