The German Nazi Party and the NSTA
The NSTA was mainly a way to raise funds for Hitler's Nazi Party from sympathetic German Americans. Most of its members were recent immigrants to America from Germany. The Nazis ordered it disbanded in 1929, leaving its 12,500 members and 80 branch offices to find some other reactionary political organization. As Hitler gained absolute power, it became clear to the Nazis that an American Nazi Party was not helpful to their goals.
