The Explosion of a Bread Crate
The Russell Street bombing took place on October 4, 1985. Constable Angela Taylor was still in a critical condition and fighting for her life. Police received hundreds of phone calls from the public after an unknown male caller said he knew who the bombers were. He eventually said that he wanted $500,000 in a Swiss bank account before he would tell police what he knew. Victorian Premier John Kane and Chief Commissioner Mick Miller jointly announced the record half-million dollars reward. Find out more about this week's episode of We're On The Case by clicking here.
