If Sweden's approach truly was a failure, it would be off the charts. There is no evidence that Sweden did worse off than any number of other countries that were far, far more restrictive. In the end, when you look at the overall mortality, not COVID deaths, but overall mortality and expected excess deaths, Sweden's right in the middle of the pack.
