Nietzsche's Charge Against Opera Is a Subtext

Nietzsche's charge against opera he says quote we see into the innermost development of this thoroughly modern variety of art. What he sees in opera is just the very thing that he has criticized throughout which is basically romanticism and in some sense this is sort of a subtext but it's when I've picked up on the more that I've gone back to this work.
