Project Maven - The Pentagon's Artificial Intelligence Project
In 20 17, the defense department developed a plan to work with private companies on integrating computer vision into its battlefield technology. The idea was that the pentagon would be able to take these mounds of video footage tthey collect from drones, from satellites, from airplanes and allow computers to dig through all of it. Nearly a dozen gogal workers reportedly resigned in protest over the companies involve in an artificial intelligence drone programm for the pendagon. A petition signed by more than three thousand employees said gogle should not be in the business of war.
