Is There a Connection Between Larrus and the Weirwood Tree?

There's a very vibrant fan theory out there that Larrus is a warg or has some sort of magical abilities akin to brands. There are a lot of pivotal conversations that seem to be taking place in front of the weirwood tree. I really like that this character who is notoriously hard to pin down is either like this sort of supernatural being or just a perverted creep. Christopher Hiview winked at me when he was asked about playing Tormund Giant Spain.
