The Power of Power

For all its unworthliness, Esperanto is considered the world's most successful invented language. The cases where someone has actually tried to construct a fair and ostensibly neutral form are widely treated as ridiculous or implausible. So even those people who try to come up with something calmer and kinder don't often get rewards commensurate with that. Could it be that ideals just might be rational?
