Is There Evidence That Ectotherms Have a Thermal Performance Advantage?

Tropical ectotherms have narrower thormal performance curves, so a smaller distance between the upper and lower limits. By contrast, temperate ectotherms often are extremely good at thermal regulating. This suggests to me that thermal regulation can be quite challenging in warm environments. In combination with other features, where organisms and colder environments tend to be even more warm adapted than you might expect.
