How Does the Republican Party Win in a Minority Rule Institutional Setting?
The Republican party at its elite level certainly throughout a lot of its history, it's been the party of business. Throughout the 20th century, opposition to the new deal was one of its organizing principles. But since the 1970s, both economic inequality in the US has increased dramatically and the Republican party's sort of business base has become much more radical on economic policy compared to other conservative business parties around the world.
