Is the Open Science Movement Leading to Bad Results?
There have been instances where, because the process is opaque, reviewers have looked at a paper that they've been assigned to review and said, you know, this paper so damn good. One of the things with open data and open code is that if there's something wrong with your data, someone who also has expertise can see what happened. And one of the problems with the current journal system now is that issue issuing a correction is a huge pain in the ass. i think that there's a thrust to make that stuff public because if it was public, more corrections would just happen.
