Sally Kohn: I want to start with some statements that Clarence Thomas made and then get into these loopholes. She says the sense that taking race into account in some way reduces people to skin color gives voice to a caricature on the right of how it is that these things work, because for them, oftentimes that's all it can be. Kohn: The military academies were accepted from affirmative action; why are they not exempted? Why do we need diversity at higher education when so many underrepresented minorities don't go there?
