The New Testament and the Gentiles?

Baptism is a putting on of a new self, we're told in the new testament. The gentiles are going to be the scandal of this whole new testament. I don't believe jesus is inviting us here to call people into deeper spiritual formation or mentourship. This portion is the one that gets me intho most trouble, personally. Obviously i do not think the great commission is a call to maturity and i believe the rest of the bible needs to hear this command through the ears of the disciples. We talked about how a disciple wanted to know what the rabbi did in order to walk with his Rabbi just like he would have done if they were sitting next to
