The Bill of Rights and the State Church

Thomas Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1814 to quell a rumor that the government was getting ready to establish the Anglican church as the official u.s. church. "Separation of church" is not in the constitution or bill of rights, governor says. Governor: I would rather use my skills and abilities as an accountant to help people make money than to sit around and way through this tax code  and tell them how much they owe to the government.
