Saint Domain - A History of the Mercantiles

The purpose of a mercantiles colonial empire was to produce goods that could then be exchanged with other mercantiles empires. The object of the mercantile system was to accumulate more gold than everyone else in the french colonial context. This meant that the planters of saint domain labored under a restrictive framework called the exclusive, promulgated by the great controller general jean baptiste colbert during the reign of louis the fourteenth. And it's safe to say that in the whole history of saint domain, the colonists hated the exclusive because it depressed the price of their exports and increased the price of imports.
