The Wasteland and Ulysses by William Hardy
Hardy finished the play in 1923 but he started work on it in 1916. The wasteland and Ulysses are both published in 1922 I mean these great kind of works of of modernism. Hardy is figuring himself as Tristrum the minstrel, negotiating his life between dead Emma and living Florence. It seems to be reenacting that Menagia Tuar which had happened on a temporary basis in Maxgate in 1910 with this scene in which Tristrum and Queen is ult have their kind of reunion.
