The Importance of Choice in Acting
I'd rather not be there to look bad. It's one of the classic things that I learned in drama school, which has made me so adamant about making sure I have choices before I show up and fighting for my choices. If you're bad because of a director's direction, people don't see a great actor who is directly poorly. They just see shitty acting. So that's all about protecting my work.
