The Effects of Large Preferences on Cross-Racial Attitudes

In many fields, minority professors have now sort of been ghettoized where they overwhelmingly concentrate on some minority aspect of their discipline. If you achieve diversity overwhelmingly through the use of large preferences, then you also create this situation where a lot of black and Hispanic students are academically struggling. The whole process could end up creating racial stereotypes as opposed to eroding racial stereotypes. No one has good debt on it. It's very tricky to get at that in an environment where nobody wants to concede the day of negative stereotypes.
