The Zelensky government did not crumble, which I think the Kremlin hoped for or anticipated. The West is using successfully the Ukrainian military to launch counter-offensives. Russia has basically conducted a referendum in the Donbas and the Russian speaking part of Eastern Ukraine. So there's no way that Putin will withdraw. And at the same time, the US is escalating and successfully escalating attacks against Russia.
