Jimmy Hoffa and the McClellan Committee
There was a good reason why the McClellan Committee took notice of Jimmy Hoffa. He did have lots of relationships with organized crime figures. This was not that extraordinary in the 1950s and if that's all there was that you just had these associations, it would be sort of like sleazy but not sexy because it happened a lot in the 20th century. The problem was that in 1956, the year before theMcClellan Committee gets going, Johnny Dio went way too far. And this is why all the heat is coming down.
