The Role of the Glyco-Calix in Vascular Integrity
There's also, interestingly, and you've probably heard of this concept or this part of the body called the glyco-calix. And it creates an equilibrium that prevents plasma proteins from leaking out through the endothelial cells and out of the blood vessels. But when that is damaged, then proteins can leak out and fluid can follow. So a really important question is how do we decide if a patient needs fluid?
