How to Schedule Opiates for Chronic Pain
The half lives of most oral analgesics or I should say the efficacy is about four to six hours so they may wake up in pain but they can also schedule okay I'm going to take pain medicine before bed and that will help me with sleep. But anything PRN is that extra boost that you use for that acute flare of the pain. It's just out of safety. There are differences if they're on a long acting which is this more slowly released formulation. Chronically I those are scheduled normally so I would schedule those too.
