We rarely have detailed high chronological resolution evidence of people moving around. But when we do, a lot of the time it tends to tell us that the patterns are very complex. Some work has been done in Peter Kousai, some work has beendone in the south of Italy around the ancient city of Metaponto. And there indeed, analysis of ancient biological samples has shown the very complexities of populations.
