People tend to be the weakest link in any security system, and way too many people are very bad at protecting themselves digitly. facebook sent out a message saying that these users need to turn on the facebook protect feature, or else they would get locked out of their accounts. The email also came from an address that was called security at facebook mail dot com. In fact i think everybody should be enabling two factor authentication for platforms like facebook.
