I think such great career advice is that putting yourself out there and for a lot of people it's hard. I've told my kids this since the beginning whenever they come home and have a bad day or something goes wrong I say well let's talk about what you learned from that. You know when when you get all this stock when you work for these startups and you get a great strike price and then you leave  you can exercise your options to help pay bills moving forward. There's probably still a sizable amount of money lying around if you've lost your job so look at non-recourse financing where they take a bet on the company with option dollars.
