After Roy Harris recanted his testimony, the prosecutor Doug Evans had a problem. The story of Roy and Clemy had been one of the strongest pieces of evidence about Curtis's route at the first trial. If Clemy also changed her story, that would be even worse. John Johnson did not respond to requests for an interview.
