The Importance of Hope in Speculative Practices
I think what speculative methods do is help to challenge the inevitability of a particular future. That is fundamentally hopeful at least when things that seem to be inevitable are also really serious threats to human flourishing. So I'm kind of hoping that the book ultimately gives people some generative approaches that they can use for their own research and teaching towards something. If that makes sense.
