The Unemployment Crisis in Britain

During the Great Depression, there would never be less than a million people out of work in Britain. This represented about one-tenth of the working population. The British workers were hit particularly hard by the reduction in international trade. One of the ways that many nations tried to cope with the Depression was through a suspension of international debt payments.
