i actually have some experience with the first example you gave my grandmother um separate dementia for many years and i remember her getting quite upset rather frequently because she would not know where her father was. What we ended up doing as a family was simply telling her your father is at home and she seemed to be pacified by that kind of thing by that answer. In those moments of clarity there we have more of a duty to to try to portray the truth so that makes me think also of a similar case where maybe a person doesn't quite have dementia or something but perhaps they have other ailments and so their family has decided to put them in nursing home or something.
