Introduction
It's 226 days since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine. The Norwegian Nobel Committee has awarded the Peace Prize for 2022 to one individual and two organisations. Ales Belatsky, an activist in Belarus who is now in jail; Memorial, a Russian organisation banned by Vladimir Putin. Centre for Civil Liberties, they are the Ukrainian group that was awarded the peace prize in 2007. And it did a lot of work to defend rights and freedoms before the Orange Revolution.
